TONI ESPINAR
For the 2018 edition, Toni Espinar, a muralist from Wall Arttitude, had a large space at the Instituto Ricardo Marín Ibánez.
There he was able to unleash his creativity and left us an incredible work that will accompany the students in their day to day.
The piece talks about change, from being a child to maturing, in this case to being a woman, although the central figure gives off a certain androgynous air.
To the central figure they accompany, as Toni usually does in his works, two figures of Pop culture, in this case two beings from the movie “Alien” representing the dark side of maturity.
We can also see how he carries in his hand a big heart with wings, as if to say that the heart has life and its own ways but that we have to take care of it.
In terms of style, the elongated shapes of the figure stand out, not very common in Toni’s work, the background with a plot of vintage motifs and a finish that subtly reminds us of the Art Nouveau posters.
